Knot Jewelry Making: Macrame and Hemp Jewelry

- Basic Tools Needed: Knotting requires almost nothing to make: String, Scissors and Beads… that’s it ;o)

- How to Determine Hemp Necklace Length: cord lengths are really a guess. A rule of thumb is that the cord should be approximately 4 times the length of the finished piece. Keep in mind that the amount of cord used up in making a knot will be greater for heavier cords than for thin cords.
When I work with very long cords, I wind it around my hand and secure it with a rubberband, releasing some of the cord as I work and rewrapping as needed. It's kind of difficult to pull the cords this way, but they are less likely to tangle.
